AMY DHATT-DHERARI MPT, BSc. KIN, Registered Physiotherapist

Amy Dhatt Bio Pic 2.jpg

At a very young age, Amy was always interested in the medical-sciences field.   Eager to learn, at age 12, she volunteered at a local physiotherapy clinic which progressed into a permanent position for over 9 years.  She completed her Bachelors in Applied Sciences - specializing in Kinesiology at Simon Fraser University (SFU).  While attending SFU, Amy played on the university’s varsity soccer team.  It was truly the experience of a lifetime as their team went on to winning a National Championship Title (NAIA) in 2000.  With being an athlete, Amy sustained multiple injuries resulting in several major knee surgeries.  She spent some time in a hospital setting as well as undergoing intense physical therapy.  Through such experiences, she has learned a great deal about being a patient and the importance of rehabilitation and mental health.  Also while at SFU, Amy had the privilege of being able to work with individuals with disabilities, in particular, Down Syndrome.  Beginning at a young age and continuing while at SFU, she had the pleasure of coaching young athletes in soccer.  In addition, Amy worked as a trainer for a lacrosse team.  After graduating SFU, she worked as a Kinesiologist for a WCB work conditioning program in a private physiotherapy clinic.  A year later, Amy pursued her masters in Physical Therapy at the University of Alberta.  Here she gained a lifetime of knowledge and experiences that have shaped who she is today.  Upon Graduation, Amy went on to work at both Langley Memorial Hospital and at a private clinic where she have gained invaluable physiotherapy skills.  Quite frankly,  Amy feels very blessed to work as a physiotherapist because her profession allows her to fulfill her passion:  helping people by inspiring, educating, and rehabilitating them.

Nav Dherari MPT, BSc KIN, Registered Physiotherapist

Nav 78.jpg

Being a physiotherapist was always Nav's childhood dream. Born and raised in Williams lake, he lived a very active lifestyle. When he wasn't playing team sports he was somehow involved by volunteering, coaching
or cheering. Experiencing what physiotherapists do for patients first hand was when Nav knew this was the profession for him. Being a primary health care practitioner and working with people hands on is something
that Nav was always passionate about. He therefore, pursued a bachelors of science in Kinesiology at SFU and went on to receive his MSc in Physical Therapy at the University of Alberta. During these scholar
years Nav was actively involved in volunteering areas and learning the profession.  He is actively involved in ongoing professional development  to further his skills and knowledge set whilst ensuring evidence based practice. Being a part of the physical rehabilitation process and seeing the broad spectrum of clientele known to see physiotherapists, Nav genuinely feels a sense of gratification.  Knowing the positive outcomes and helping people reach their potential is something that he is proud to facilitate, and truly keeps him driven!

Kate Richardson MPT, BS Psychobiology, Registered Physiotherapist

Long before Kate set her sights on becoming a physiotherapist, all of her goals centered on the sport of gymnastics.  A gymnast for nearly 20 years, Kate won medals at both the Pan American and Commonwealth Games, and went on to fulfill her ultimate dream of competing for Canada at the Olympic Games in 2000 and 2004.  The sport then led her to the United States to compete in the NCAA for the University of California, Los Angeles, while she completed a Bachelors of Science in psychobiology.

As her career in gymnastics progressed, she developed a deep sense of gratitude towards the physiotherapists and trainers who helped to keep her healthy and able to train pain-free.  She also developed a keen interest in the science behind what they did.  As a result, after retiring from gymnastics, Kate set her sights on becoming a physiotherapist.

Kate’s motivation as a physiotherapist comes from enabling clients to perform and reach their full potential in whatever it is they love to do – whether it be gymnastics or dance, or walking and playing with grandchildren.  She is thrilled to be able to help people work towards these goals in such a unique way as a part of the PhysiGO team.
